## The story

Beep-Beep Checkout Lane turned living rooms into grocery stores. Kids scanned cereal boxes, shoes and the family cat, and the scanner beeped every single time. The pretend card swiper made a satisfying zip, and the conveyor belt rolled with a crank. Parents were forced to shop, pay with play money and receive a long paper receipt.

## Fun fact

The scanner beeped at anything, including hands, sandwiches and the television, which kids considered a feature.
