## The story

The science teacher DJed from two tape decks on a lunch table, and the student council covered the basketball hoops in pink and silver crepe paper. Boys lined one wall, girls lined the other. Then came the snowball: one couple started, and every time the music paused they each grabbed someone new until the whole gym was dancing at arm's length.

## Fun fact

The fog machine set off the gym smoke detector so often that the fire department started attending as chaperones.
