## The story

Crooning Carrot Minute aired between cartoons every Saturday, and it was somehow impossible to change the channel. Carl the Carrot sang smooth ballads about broccoli from a velvet stage while a backup trio of peas went doo-wop. Kids mocked it loudly, yet every one of them could still sing the spinach verse word for word.

Carl's big finale note lasted so long that kids timed it with a stopwatch and swore it got longer every season.
