## The story

The Peck-Out Pet Egg was the holiday toy everyone hunted for. Inside lived a Glimmerpip, a fuzzy round creature like a baby cloud with tiny wings and light-up eyes, who chirped back when you tapped. After a long, loud wait it cracked through the shell, blinked at you and demanded to be fed. Bedtimes were delayed nationwide.

## Fun fact

Impatient kids learned that hatching took about twenty minutes of tapping, so siblings tapped in shifts.
