## The story

Field trip day meant a bus ride, a sack lunch and one hour of pressing every button. The whisper dishes let you talk across the room, the bubble station made rings big enough to stand in, and the giant shiny globe made your hair rise like a dandelion. The gift shop sold freeze-dried astronaut ice cream, and everybody bought one.

## Fun fact

The science center's static globe was nicknamed Big Frizz, and the staff kept a jar of hair ties next to it.
