## The story

Every teacher had a secret drawer of rubber stamps, and kids learned exactly which work earned which design. The smiley sun was common. The roller-skating dinosaur was legendary. Students kept old worksheets in binders just to show off their collections, and new kids were quizzed on their old school's stamps.

## Fun fact

One teacher had a stamp of a winking astronaut that she used only once a year, and nobody ever saw it twice.
