The story of Splatter Puff Sponges
Splatter Puffs were the water balloons that never ran out. Each one was a bundle of pastel sponge strips tied in the middle, so it fluffed out like a pom-pom. Dunk it in the bucket, wind up, and splat. Nothing popped and nothing needed refilling at the faucet, so backyard water fights lasted until the streetlights came on.

A bucket of puffs left in the freezer overnight turned the hottest day of summer into a shrieking backyard chase.
