The story of Squish Buns
Squish Buns smelled like vanilla frosting and took ten whole seconds to rise back into shape. Kids collected them by the bagful: melon buns, croissants, toast slices with sleepy faces. Watching one slowly inflate was weirdly calming. The jumbo strawberry roll was the ultimate find, and nobody could locate one.
Squishing two at once and racing their rise became a lunchtime sport with very strict rules.
