The story of Backsplash Rescue
Every episode began with a homeowner apologizing for their kitchen and ended with Hal, a retired shop teacher, and his niece June revealing a sparkling makeover with hexagon tile and floating shelves. In between, there was always a surprise: a hidden door, an old fireplace, a family of very startled mice. Viewers repainted everything they owned in mint.
Fun fact
June tapped old tile loose with a pastel pink rubber mallet, and fans begged the show to sell copies.
