The story of Crushed Ice Mode

The new fridge had a glowing dispenser in the door, and Crushed Ice Mode was its finest feature. You pushed your cup against the lever and listened to the grinding roar. Half the ice went into the cup. The other half bounced off your hand, skidded across the floor and was discovered later by someone in socks.

Fun fact

Kids pressed the lever with no cup just to hear the crunching sound, which parents could detect from anywhere in the house.
