Burning a custom mix CD for someone special and hand-lettering the disc in marker with a cryptic title.
The story · 2003
Burning a mix took a full evening: picking songs, ordering them perfectly and praying the disc did not fail halfway through. Then came the marker artwork, usually stars, a title like summer feelings vol two and a tiny doodled heart. Handing it over in the hallway was the bravest thing you did all year.
Every mix had one song that skipped in the car, and its creator always insisted that was intentional.
Six finishes
Hand-Labeled Mix CD comes in six finishes: 100 Base, 50 Holo, 25 Laser and 10 Gold copies, plus one Super Laser and one Misprint that exist exactly once. Every copy is minted to the wallet that rips it, with its own serial number.
