The story of Mermaid Tail Swirls
Mermaid Tail Swirls showed up at every birthday party the year mermaids replaced unicorns as the official theme. Each one was a big flat swirl of teal, lilac and seafoam, shaped into a curling tail with a pearly fin. They were too pretty to eat for about three days, then too stale to eat after that, so most lived on shelves.
Holding one up to a sunny window threw rainbow shimmers across the room, which quickly became its main job.
