Retsy Series 1 · Card 0516 · 90-TOY
Sleep longer. Walk the dog farther.
A transparent ball-bearing yo-yo with a clutch that brought it home automatically after long sleeping spins.
The story · 1998
The Comet Clutch could sleep for a full minute, long enough to walk the dog down the entire school hallway. Demo teams toured schoolyards doing around-the-world tricks, and every kid suddenly needed one. String burn became a common playground injury. The glowing blue model was the one everybody wanted.
A spare pack of strings cost almost as much as the yo-yo itself, and every kid still bought three.
Six finishes
The Comet Clutch comes in six finishes: 100 Base, 50 Holo, 25 Laser and 10 Gold copies, plus one Super Laser and one Misprint that exist exactly once. Every copy is minted to the wallet that rips it, with its own serial number.
