The story of Zip-Up Dozers
Zip-Up Dozers were floppy, cheap and always asleep. Each one came zipped in a tiny quilted sleeping bag with its name stitched on the pillow, like Dumpling the Walrus or Puddle the Frog. Kids lined them up in shoebox bunk beds and held whisper-only sleepovers for them. Unzipping one during class was considered extremely rude to the walrus.
The rare tangerine fox came with its eyes stitched wide open, and kids whispered that it was the only one who never slept.
