The story of Finger-Woven Fishtail Bands
Rubber band bracelets took over every lunch table and bus seat. Kids carried bags of tiny bands everywhere and wove them over two fingers or a pencil. Fishtail was the easy weave; anything fancier needed a video tutorial and serious focus. Rubber bands ended up in the couch, the dryer and once, according to legend, the soup.
Advanced kids made rubber band rings, phone cases and even a working miniature hammock.
