The story of Frayed-End Charging Cord
Every household had at least one Frayed-End Charging Cord, stretched from the outlet to the bed and wrapped in tape at the connector. It charged only when bent at a precise angle and propped up with a book. People guarded the working ones fiercely and labeled them with nail polish. Borrowing one without asking ended many sibling truces.
Stores sold ten-foot replacement cords, long enough to reach the bed from across the room and trip everyone in between.
