Retsy Series 1 · Card 1187 · 10-TEC
The internet, in a slab you can hold.
A slim touchscreen tablet that became the family's recipe book, movie theater and toddler entertainer all at once.
The story · 2011
When the Slatewise arrived, the family computer gathered dust overnight. Grandparents video chatted, toddlers swiped through cartoons with sticky fingers, and dads read the news on the couch. It lived in a thick rubber bumper case, because the youngest member of the house liked to use it as a drum.
The screen collected so many fingerprints that it doubled as a detailed record of everyone's snack choices.
Six finishes
Slatewise Tablet comes in six finishes: 100 Base, 50 Holo, 25 Laser and 10 Gold copies, plus one Super Laser and one Misprint that exist exactly once. Every copy is minted to the wallet that rips it, with its own serial number.
