Byte the robot puppy had glowing blue LED eyes and an antenna tail that wagged when he was happy, which was always. The cereal was shaped like tiny bones and came in chocolate and silver-frosted vanilla. The box back had a punch-out remote control. Pointing it at your actual dog did nothing, but kids tried every morning.

Every kid with a computer insisted Byte's bark was just a dial-up modem sound played in slow motion.
