Retsy Series 1 · Card 1146 · 10-MEM
Tap, tap, crinkle. Goodnight.
Soft-spoken videos of people whispering, tapping and crinkling paper that millions watched to fall asleep.
The story · 2018
It sounded strange to explain: you watched someone gently tap a hairbrush or whisper about folding towels. But the videos made scalps tingle and eyelids heavy. Kids fell asleep to them with earbuds in. Parents peeked in, heard someone softly crinkling a cereal box, and decided not to ask.
The most popular sound in some videos was simply slow page turning, which librarians found deeply validating.
