The story of Lever Wall Haul
The Lever Wall was the centerpiece of every mall candy store, a glowing grid of clear tubes stacked to the ceiling. You grabbed a plastic bag and pulled lever after lever, watching gummy sharks, sour belts and malt balls tumble in. Then came the scale, and the cold realization that you had picked six dollars of candy with only three.
Fun fact
Nudging a lever just slightly let out a single piece, and kids treated it like a free sample, even though it was not.
