The story of Wince-O-Meter Sours
Wince-O-Meter Sours turned sour candy into a scientific study. Each bag had five colors, from Level One green to Level Five black, and a meter on the back so you could rate your reaction. Kids filmed each other on digital cameras, logged scores in notebooks, and argued for weeks about whether the black ones were sourer or just scarier.
Fun fact
Level Five was secretly the same sourness as Level Four, but nobody believed it even after reading the package.
