The story of Ninety-Nine Cent Tower
Every teen with a pocket full of change knew the value menu by heart, and the Tower was its crown jewel. Three thin patties, two slices of cheese, pickles and a squished bun, all for less than a dollar. Groups of kids pooled quarters after practice and ordered six at once. The cashier never even blinked.
Extra pickles were free, which is why some Towers had noticeably more pickle than burger.
