The story of Sun-Dried Tomato Wrap
Suddenly, nobody wanted a sandwich. They wanted a wrap, and they wanted it in a flavored tortilla: spinach green, sun-dried tomato red or honey wheat. The mall deli rolled turkey, lettuce and ranch up tight, cut it on a diagonal and speared each half with a frilly toothpick. It felt fancy and grown-up. It fell apart by the third bite.
The frilly toothpicks came in four colors, and teens collected them in their car cupholders for years.
