The story of Spoon Points Catalog
Every box had a little spoon symbol worth ten points, and kids clipped them with the focus of a bank teller. The catalog showed a glow-in-the-dark jacket for two thousand points, which meant roughly a lifetime of cereal. Most kids cashed in for a keychain. A legendary few got the jacket and wore it until high school.
Parents found shoeboxes full of clipped points years later, long after the catalog stopped taking orders.
