The story of Mother's Day Burnt Toast
Mother's Day Burnt Toast started at sunrise with whispered plans and a smoke alarm. Kids carried the wobbly tray upstairs, spilling orange juice on every step, and presented toast so dark it crunched like gravel. Moms ate every bite and declared it the best breakfast ever, then went downstairs to clean the kitchen.
The handmade card on the tray always had at least one backwards letter, and it stayed on the fridge for years.
