Every episode of Duplex Dad ended with Hank Pulaski knocking on the shared wall with a broom handle, yelling for quiet. His mother-in-law Dot always knocked back twice, and the studio audience lost it every single time. Kids across the country started copying the broom knock on bedroom walls, which drove real parents up the wall.

The duplex set had only one working kitchen; the crew just flipped the wallpaper between scenes.
