Every kid on the block had a cousin who heard it. Around dusk, the truck would roll past slower than usual with the song playing in reverse. Buy anything and you would get a cold headache that lasted until school started. Nobody had proof, but everyone ran inside, just in case.
The legend spread so fast that the real driver started playing the song extra loud just to prove it was normal.
