The story of Finger on Record
The radio was the only place to get the hit song, so you waited, sometimes all afternoon. Fingers hovered over play and record together. Then the opening notes hit, you slammed both buttons, and the DJ talked over the first ten seconds anyway. Every homemade tape had that same voice on it.
Kids yelled at the radio so often that some DJs started saying sorry, tapers, before every new song.
