Twin fashion dolls with extra-long hair and a battery-powered mini crimper that pressed in zigzag waves.
The story · 1987
Tawny and Trish Crimp ran a pretend salon called the Wave Cave, and the box came with a working crimper the size of a stapler. Within one afternoon both dolls had hair like a lightning strike. Older sisters borrowed the crimper for their bangs, which is why it rarely came back.
The crimper worked on doll hair, yarn and one very patient sock puppet, in that order.
Six finishes
Crimp Queens comes in six finishes: 100 Base, 50 Holo, 25 Laser and 10 Gold copies, plus one Super Laser and one Misprint that exist exactly once. Every copy is minted to the wallet that rips it, with its own serial number.
