The story of Too Many Ovens
The screen only had about twelve possible pictures, but those blinking ovens felt like the future. Every burned pie made a sad little buzz, and three buzzes ended the game. The beeps sped up after 500 points until your thumb ached. Teachers confiscated so many during silent reading that one school kept a shoebox of them in the office until June.
Holding both buttons while switching it on made the cook do a little dance, a secret passed around every lunch table.
