The story of Smack-Back Paddle Ball
Smack-Back paddles were handed out at every birthday party and carnival, and every kid believed they could hit a hundred. Most managed seven before the ball smacked them in the nose. The elastic eventually snapped and the ball rolled under the couch, where it probably still lives today.
The neighborhood record was 412 hits in a row, and the kid who set it retired that same afternoon.
