The story of Earworm 128MB
The Earworm held exactly enough music for one bus ride, if you chose carefully. Loading songs meant plugging it into the family computer and waiting while a progress bar crept along. Its tiny blue screen scrolled song titles slowly, letter by letter. It never skipped, which felt like a miracle to anyone who survived the portable CD era.
Choosing which thirty songs made the cut was harder than any test, and kids rearranged their lineup nightly.
