The story of Glowword Message Fan
The Glowword Message Fan was a cooling device, technically, but nobody bought it for the breeze. Its soft foam blades had a strip of lights that spelled words in the air when they spun. Kids programmed names, crushes and very short jokes, then waved it around at sleepovers, concerts and the back row of the school bus.
Most kids spent the first hour typing their name with three buttons, and nearly everyone gave up after four letters.
