One Friday every September, the whole Saturday cartoon lineup got a prime-time preview hosted by a teen sitcom star and a giant costumed mascot. Kids circled it in the TV guide and studied the clips like scouts. By Monday, everyone had picked a favorite new show and a least favorite theme song.
The mascot cohost, a dancing alarm clock named Snooze, got more fan mail than any of the cartoons.
