The story of Touch-Tone Video Vote
Touch-Tone Video Vote pitted two music videos against each other every half hour, and you called Line A or Line B to pick the winner. Kids memorized both numbers and redialed until their fingers hurt. A tally bar on screen grew in real time, which was the most thrilling thing a phone had ever done.
The one-night vote record was set by a single kid using the kitchen phone and the upstairs phone at once.
