The story of Jalapeño Lava Poppers
Every family restaurant in town added poppers to the menu at the same time, and they arrived in a red plastic basket with ranch. They looked harmless and golden. Then you bit in and a river of hot cheese ran down your chin. Dads ate six. Kids ate one, very carefully, and then pretended it was not spicy at all.
Every basket had at least one popper whose cheese had escaped completely, leaving a sad empty pepper shell.
