The story of Purple Spot Pocket Cam
The Purple Spot snapped onto a cube of four flashbulbs that turned after each photo. Every birthday picture showed squinting kids, because the flash was bright enough to see from the moon. After the fourth shot, the cube was done and smelled faintly like a burnt marshmallow. Developing the film took a week at the drugstore.
Fun fact
Kids collected the spent flash cubes, which looked like tiny melted ice cubes, and traded them at school.
