The story of Trade-Away Taffy
Every Halloween, one house on the block handed out Trade-Away Taffy, and every kid groaned on the walk home. The chews were peanut buttery, rock hard by November and wrapped in waxy orange and black paper. You dumped your haul on the living room floor, and these were the first thing you tried to unload on a little brother.
Grandparents secretly loved them, which explains why the same bag lasted in the candy dish until spring.
