Retsy Series 1 · Card 0501 · 90-MEM
Walk the dog. Rock the cradle. Show off.
The summer every kid on the block practiced yo-yo tricks for hours, chasing the one trick nobody could land.
The story · 1998
It started when a traveling demo team performed at the toy store and made it look easy. By July, every driveway had kids practicing sleeps, loops and around-the-world swings. Strings broke, knuckles got bonked and one yo-yo ended up on a roof forever. The legendary trick was called the double moon.
Kids believed keeping a yo-yo in the freezer overnight made it sleep longer, which mostly just made it cold.
