The story of Anchors Up! The Musical
Anchors Up! premiered during spring break week, and by the time school started again every middle schooler knew the deck dance. The plot was simple: two rival singing groups, one cruise ship, one talent show. The soundtrack CD lived in every backseat, and karaoke versions played at every sleepover until summer.
Fun fact
The deck dance scene was filmed in a parking lot with a painted backdrop because the real ship kept rocking.
