The story of The Sleepy Sax Sign-Off
Right before the test pattern, Channel 7 played the same three minutes every night: a sunset over a lake, a seagull landing on a post, and a mellow saxophone that sounded like it was also very sleepy. Night owls knew every frame. If you heard the saxophone, you knew you were officially up way too late.
The seagull became so famous around town that a local bakery named a cinnamon roll after it.
