The story of Pickup Truck Drive-In
The old Starbright Drive-In reopened with a new digital projector and the same gravel humps. Teens backed pickup trucks in, filled the beds with air mattresses, blankets and string lights, and tuned the radio for sound. The snack shack added gourmet popcorn flavors, but the intermission countdown was still the same cartoon comet.
On opening night of the revival, three generations of one family parked side by side and argued about which decade's snacks were better.
