The story of Splash Pad Sprinkler Park
The city swapped the old wading pool for a splash pad, and every toddler and tween in the area showed up in swim shirts. Jets shot up from the ground in random patterns, a giant metal flower dumped buckets of water every three minutes, and pastel arches misted anyone who walked under. Parents sat on the benches with iced coffee, not getting wet.
Kids figured out that stepping on one secret ground jet made the whole flower dump early, and guarded the spot jealously.
