The story of Syrup Stripe Snow Cone
The snow cone stand by the ballfield sold the Syrup Stripe for one quarter, and the line ran past the bleachers. The teen running the machine squirted cherry, blue raspberry and lime in perfect stripes. By the third inning it had melted into a brownish swirl, and the last sip from the paper tip tasted like victory.
Kids bit the bottom off the paper cone and drank it like a straw, which worked for about four seconds.
