The story of Two-Minute Mug Cake
Everyone saw the same overhead recipe video: flour, cocoa, sugar, milk and oil stirred in a mug, then microwaved for a minute or two. The result was a warm, slightly rubbery chocolate cake that rose over the rim like a muffin top. It was perfect for one person, late at night, with a scoop of ice cream on top.
Leaving it in thirty seconds too long produced a chocolate hockey puck that rattled when you shook the mug.
