The story of Bigger-Than-Your-Head Lolly
Bigger-Than-Your-Head Lolly hung in the candy shop window like a stained glass rainbow. Kids begged for it, parents gave in, and the licking began heroically. By the parking lot it was sticky. By the car ride home it was wrapped in a napkin. By August it lived in the freezer next to the peas, half finished forever.
Families passed the same half-eaten lolly from summer to summer, adding a fresh layer of freezer frost each year.
