The story of Face Melters

Face Melters came in a squat plastic jar topped by a cartoon grape whose face was sliding off its head in squiggly lines. The lid had a spinning Melt Meter dial so you could log your personal record. Kids held recess contests to see who could hold three at once without tearing up, then bragged about it until Friday.

Fun fact

The Melt Meter dial only went up to five, so kids drew a sixth notch with a marker and called it Puddle.
