The story of Fair Prize Fishies
Fair Prize Fishies came in a clear knotted bag, the exact kind every kid carried home from the midway. Three chewy fish hung suspended in wobbly blue jelly. You poked a hole in the corner and slurped the jelly first, then rescued the fish one by one. Pet names were mandatory, and goodbyes were brief.
Some kids tried to keep one in a fishbowl overnight, and by morning it had become a jelly cloud with a sad orange center.
