The story of Patience Crystals
Patience Crystals promised a science lesson and delivered a test of willpower. You dissolved the sugar in hot water with a grown-up's help, hung the strings in the jar, and waited. And waited. Every morning you checked for crystals. By week two, the window sill held a sticky jar of glittering purple rock candy and one very proud scientist.
At least one sibling in every house tried to eat the crystals on day three, and the arguments that followed were historic.
