The story of Hands-in-Hiding Hoodie
Thumbhole hoodies had sleeves long enough to cover your hands entirely, which was the whole point. You hooked your thumbs through, pulled the hood up, and became a mysterious figure in the back row. Kids picked holes in the cuffs until the thumbholes became full fist holes. Taking it off was never an option.
Hoodie owners got so used to the thumbholes that regular sleeves made their thumbs feel lonely.
